Days after singer Justin Bieber opened up about his battle with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, television actress Aishwarya Sakhuja revealed that she was also diagnosed with it. In a recent interview, Aishwarya mentioned that she came to know about it in 2014 when she was shooting for a show called Main Na Bhoolungi. The actress shared how she initially considered it only out of diligence.
“We were shooting back-to-back because we had a wedding sequence coming up. I clearly remember that I had a 2 pm shift the next day and the night before, Rohit (her then boyfriend and now husband) kept asking me why I was seeing her. I thought it was one of his silly jokes and didn’t react to it. The next morning, when I went to brush my teeth, I found it difficult to hold water in my mouth while rinsing. Even at that time, I thought it was diligence,” she told The Times of India.
Aishwarya further revealed how it was her then roommate who noticed that ‘something is wrong’ and that was when she went to a doctor. The doctor told her that she was suffering from Ramsay Hunt syndrome. However, the actress also said that she could not walk away from the shoot due to her work schedule. Aishwarya said, “The cast and crew were very supportive, and they tried to shoot in such a way that half of my face was not visible.”
Aishwarya Sakhuja has worked in several TV shows including Main Naa Bhoolungi, Saas Bina Sasural, Trideviyaan and Yeh Hai Chahatein among others.
For those unaware, earlier this month, Justin Bieber also revealed that he has been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. Following this, he took to social media and put out a video in which he shared that the right side of his face was paralyzed due to the syndrome. Later, the singer also shared a health update on social media and talked about how this ‘storm will pass soon’. “Every day has gotten better and through all the discomfort, I have found comfort in the person who designed me and knows me. I am missing that he knows me all. He knows the darkest parts of me. What I don’t want anyone to know about and he constantly welcomes me in his loving arms. This approach has brought me peace during this terrible storm that I am facing,” he wrote.
