Kashmiri Pandit shopkeeper shot in the third terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir in 24 hours

new Delhi: Terrorists opened fire on a Kashmiri Pandit in Shopian district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday evening.

Kashmiri Pandit Bal Krishna alias Sonu was shot at in Chottigam in Shopian district. He has been admitted to the District Hospital in Shopian.

On receiving the information, the security forces reached the spot and started the search operation.

Sonu, a medical store operator by profession, did not leave the valley even during the displacement of Pandits from Kashmir. Balji was living in Kashmir for the last 30 years.

This was the third attack by terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday. In the earlier two attacks, a CRPF jawan was killed and three people, including two activists from Bihar, were injured. Two other migrant workers were also targeted on Sunday.

Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha condemned the terror attack on civilians and CRPF jawans.

Manoj Sinha tweeted, “Strongly condemn the cowardly terror attack on civilians and CRPF personnel. My deepest condolences to the family of martyr HC Vishal Kumar and pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. Our security forces perpetrators of the heinous attacks. Will give a befitting reply.”

Two CRPF jawans were injured in the firing by terrorists on the security forces in Maisuma. They were taken to SMHS hospital, where one of them, head constable Vishal Kumar, succumbed to his injuries.

Following the incident, security forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police cordoned off the area and a search operation was launched.

On the other hand, in Pulwama, for the second time, terrorists have attacked two non-Kashmiri people. Two people from Bihar have been injured in this attack.

Party vice-president Omar Abdullah also condemned the jawan’s killing.

PDP President Mehbooba Mufti tweeted, “Condemn the attack on CRPF jawans in Maisuma this afternoon. Nothing goes out except to the families of those killed in this senseless violence. My condolences to the family and prayers for the injured.” “

The JK Pradesh Congress Committee and Apni Party also condemned the killing of the CRPF jawans.
