Karnataka: Four arrested for desecrating temple in Bantwal taluk Mangaluru News – Times of India

MANGALURU: Dakshina Kannada district police on Thursday arrested four miscreants for desecrating Sri Karinjeshwara temple in Bantwal taluk. The video of the four accused entering the place of worship with their footwear on had gone viral, and a complaint was filed.
The arrested accused are 20-year-old Bushar Rehman, a resident of Mastikatte in Ullal; ismail arha maju, 22, resident of Mukkacherry, Ullal; Mohd Tanish (19) resident of Halekot Ullal and Mohd Rashad, 19, a resident of Babboukte, Mangaluru.
A complaint was filed by Vinay Kumar On behalf of the chairman of the temple management committee on Wednesday. A case was registered under the Indian Penal Code 295 (injuring or desecrating a place of worship with intent to insult the religion of any class).
Punjalakatte police have arrested him after starting an investigation on the basis of the viral video. He was produced before a court and sent to judicial custody.
