She shared many lesser known facts about her relationship with Ranbir Kapoor. In one of the segments, she discussed the Kapoor family and how a flight brought her closer to her now-husband Ranbir Kapoor.
It was widely known that Alia and Ranbir came close while working on the film Brahmastra directed by Ayan Mukerji. However, little did they know that there was a spark between them even before the filming started.
Alia Bhatt revealed that their meeting on a flight to Tel Aviv for the Brahmastra workshop took them both by surprise. They never anticipated spending the new year together, let alone sitting together. However, due to a problem, Ranbir Kapoor had to move from his seat, much to Alia’s dismay. However, after recovering his seat he returned to sit beside her and the two started exchanging notes. During their conversation, Ranbir confessed that he too was unhappy about having to move from his seat after they tied the knot. According to Alia, that was the moment the magic started between them and the rest, as they say, is history.
The actress elaborated how Ranbir planned a secret proposal which felt like a fairy tale. She said that they had put aside marriage discussions due to the pandemic, but Ranbir had different plans. Without telling anyone, he took a ring and proposed to her in the heart of the jungle in the Masai Mara National Reserve.
During the bingo round on Koffee With Karan, Alia admitted to not using Ranbir Kapoor’s toothbrush for a long time. She revealed that she was often mistaken because their toothbrushes looked alike. When asked if Ranbir is happy with it, Alia shook her head and said, “Absolutely not.”
Talking about her wedding day, which was a sweet affair conducted in Vaastu, the actress expressed that she couldn’t have done it any other way! Just before taking the plunge, Alia and Ranbir have a sumptuous lunch together, bid farewell as boyfriend and girlfriend and get ready for the big day. Alia flashed her million dollar smile as they turned around, surrounded by the radiant smiles of her nearest and dearest.
Alia also mentioned the difference between her family and the Kapoor family, highlighting that her (Bhatt) family members prefer to do their own work, while the Kapoor family members do everything including eating food and performing puja aarti. Some do it together. She revealed that she finds it fascinating and has had many cultural and family experiences with the Kapoor family, which have enriched her life in a whole new way.
Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt got married on April 14 last year. This couple is celebrating their first anniversary today. After keeping their relationship low-key for years, the couple held an intimate wedding ceremony which was attended by only close friends and family members.
On the work front, Alia Bhatt will be next seen in the upcoming film Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahani opposite Ranveer Singh.
