Kalyan: A Central Railway The motorman managed to stop his train in time and saved the life of an 86-year-old man who had attempted suicide by jumping on the track. Welfare Railway station on Sunday.
The incident took place on Platform-4 at 4 pm.
Hariprasad Karna jumped on the track as he was leaving the Mahanagari Express station.
However, alert motorman SK Pradhan managed to stop the train in time by applying the emergency brake.
An official of the Government Railway Police (GRP) said that there was no injury to the person in the incident.

After the motorman stopped the train, other railway employees, Railway Protection Force (RPF) personnel and GRP team reached the spot and derailed the elderly and took them to Kalyan GRP station.
A GRP official said the man was troubled by a family dispute. After persuading them not to take any such step in future, they have sent her along with her son.
