Kajol celebrated the release of DDLJ in theaters on Valentine’s Day.
Kajol took to Instagram on Valentine’s Day and posted a clip of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge in a theatre. The actress also wrote a special message for her fans.
A few weeks before Valentine’s Day, Yash Raj Films announced the re-release of Shahrukh Khan And Kajol starrer epic romantic drama Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will hit the theatres. And finally the day has come! To celebrate the same, Kajol took to Instagram to share a message of love for all DDLJ fans along with a clip from the film which is running in theatres, and her fans are all hearts.
On Tuesday, Kajol posted a clip recorded by phone, in which the song Ruk Jaa O Di Deewane can be seen in a theatre. Along with the video, he penned a special Valentine’s Day message for fans and admirers of Raj and Simran. She wrote, “Raj and Simran are still making waves for #Valentines ❤️ To all the lovers out there, live your life.. ✨ #HappyValentinesDay to all 🌹.”
Soon after the video was shared, scores of her fans started taking to the comments section to shower love on the film. Kajol’s sister commented, “I want to see this in theatre!!!! I’m going! Happy V Day my forever Simran Anjali Simran Anjali!!!!!! I love you!.”
Earlier, Yash Raj Films and national multiplex chains PVR, Inox and Cinepolis recently revealed plans to re-release the 1995 classic Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge during the Valentine’s Day week. Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol played Raj and Simran in the mythological romance epic, which was re-released on very few screens and continues to draw crowds to theater screens even after 28 years.
The Aditya Chopra-directed film earned Rs 2.50 lakh in three episodes on 10 February, then brought in Rs 10 lakh the next day, a 300 percent increase. The estimated earnings for February 11 are also in the region of Rs 10 lakh, taking the three-day weekend total to Rs 22.50 lakh. Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge will see the biggest spike in sales on Valentine’s Day, February 14, and there are chances that it may cross the Rs 20 lakh mark as well. DDLJ will target a total revenue of Rs 60 lakh during its seven-day run, which is very high for a 1995 film.
