Story

The name of Kabirdas ji’s son was Kamal. One day Kamal said to Kabirdas ji, ‘You were not here in the hut, you were late in coming. At that time some people came and were asking about you. A dead young man was also with him. I took the name of Ram two or three times in front of that dead body and poured Gangajal, then the dead youth became alive. They returned after cheering.

Kabirdas ji was surprised to hear these amazing things. His surprise increased when Kamal further said, ‘You were saying for a long time that you have to go on pilgrimage, then you go, I will take care of the cottage.’

Kabirdas ji understood that my son has become arrogant. Whatever sadhnas he has done, his ego has been awakened after seeing the result. Kabirdas ji wrote a letter and gave it to Kamal. ‘Don’t open it,’ he said.

Kabir ji sent Kamal to a saint with a letter. When Kamal reached this saint, that saint opened the letter. In it, Kabir ji had written that Kamal Bhayo Kaput, Kabir was completely drowned.

There was also a line of sick people at that saint’s place. When the saint poured Gangajal on many people at once, they all got cured. Kamal felt that he is more miraculous than me. That saint was Surdas ji.

Surdas ji heard the wonderful conversation and said, ‘Go back, a young man is drowning in the river, save him.’ Kamal immediately went towards the river and saw that a boy was drowning, Kamal saved him.

When Kamal returned to Surdas after saving the boy, he was shocked that he could not see, could not even read my father’s letter, what I told him is fine, but he came to know everything about me. When Kamal read the letter written by his father Kabirdas, he came to know that my father has sent me here to remove my ego. Many people have siddhi, sadhnas, but they do not misuse these sadhnas.

Lessons

Through Kamal, it should be understood that we should not boast of our abilities. All people have different abilities. When we start misusing our ability, then because of our pride, our ability starts to end. Use ability properly, don’t destroy it because of ego.
