Not all IIT graduates are lucky to get lucrative salaries as a new report on Tuesday revealed that the number of students getting jobs with high CTC (Rs 50 lakh and above per annum) is only 5.5 per cent of the total pool. Which translates to only 960 students.

A team of campus recruitment experts at recruitment automation and assessment solutions provider HirePro analyzed data on placements in IITs in 2022 and gathered information on compensation.

The findings suggest, “Although many top-tier companies hire some of the best talent from the IITs and within the industry, they are not among those that pay the highest salaries.”

Students of IITs from Mumbai, Madras, Delhi, Kharagpur, Kanpur, Guwahati, Roorkee, BHU Varanasi and Hyderabad campuses get job opportunities with higher salary than students from IIT Dhanbad (ISM), Ropar, Bhubaneswar, Gandhinagar, Jodhpur, Patna. Offers are received. , Indore, and Mandi campuses.

However, the situation is slowly changing as a result of innovation in the recruitment process and the success of remote recruitment.

“Freshers in IITs have a wide salary range, which is in line with the salary behavior in new age, tech and R&D driven industries,” the report noted.

IIT students from streams such as Computer Science Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, and Data Science receive most of the job offers.

Campus recruitment experts at HirePro prepared a detailed analysis of CTC and Gross Salary offered by various companies across 23 IITs.

Around 90 per cent of the students who participated in the placement accepted the job offer.

“The report dispels the myth that not all graduates of IITs, India’s premier engineering institute, get huge salary packages. Only a small fraction of them receive large compensation packages; Remaining organizations are accessible for hiring at reasonable pay scales,” the report said.
