During the farewell ceremony of Chief Justice Rituraj Awasthi in the Karnataka High Court, a remark by Judge B Veerappa is becoming quite viral. Hurt by the lawyer’s allegation, Justice Veerappa said, “If even a single false allegation against me is proved, I am ready to beheaded outside the Assembly or the High Court.”

Justice Veerappa said that the judges sit in the glass house and they have nothing to hide. He further said that some members of the Bar Council make baseless allegations against the judiciary. This also affects the functioning of the judiciary.

Saddened by the misbehavior of the lawyer, Justice Veerappa said that judges are very sensitive and tolerant, but when someone crosses the limit, then one has to run Sudarshan Chakra. We will not go back on that too, but the Bar Council should take action on this first.

The farewell ceremony of High Court Chief Justice Rituraj Awasthi was organized by the Bangalore Bar Council. Meanwhile, Justice Veerappa’s anger erupted, after which the President of the Bar Council came forward and talked about taking strict action in the matter.

According to the report of The Hindu, the bench of Justice Veerappa and Justice KM Hemlekha was hearing the contempt case. Meanwhile, a lawyer started shouting and said, ‘I have made 3 complaints against the judge itself, which is not being heard.’
