J&K residents hail PM Narendra Modi as their village receives electricity for first time under ‘Har Ghar Bijli Yojana’

Jammu and Kashmir: People in a remote village of Anantnag in a hamlet in South Kashmir got electricity for the first time after independence. This light is not just for their homes, but it will change their lives. The people living in this Tathan Gujjar colony of Anantnag jumped with joy as soon as the electric bulb was lit. The enthusiasm level was so high that even the power development employees danced in front of the new transformer.

People were very happy because for the first time they saw electric bulbs lighting up their homes. This is an attempt to make life easier for the villagers as most of India lives in villages and if villages develop then the country develops.

Fazul Khan, a resident of South Kashmir’s Tathan Top village, said, “I am very thankful to the government and the electricity department that they have solved our problems, we have seen electricity for the first time after independence, now we can have some ease. In life” he said, “the previous generations before us in our village were not able to see electricity, we are thankful to the department that they provided us electricity, our children cannot study well, we see a bright future. ” she added.

The government is continuously working to provide electricity to many villages of Jammu and Kashmir. This is not the first village in Kashmir to get electricity; A PDD official said that according to the data, roughly 18 villages in Jammu and Kashmir have got electricity for the first time since India’s independence, and many more are on the list.

Nazir Ahmed, an official in the power development department, said, “These remote areas of Kashmir did not have electricity since independence and we started electrifying every such village on a fast-track in the central special scheme of Har Ghar Bijli Yojana Is.’

Prime Minister’s Development Program “Har Ghar Bijli Yojana” under “PMDP” aims to lighten every village house. The scheme was launched by the Prime Minister in 2019.
