J&K Congress workers protest demanding release of Priyanka Gandhi

Srinagar: Members of the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) on Tuesday (October 5) protested against the detention of Priyanka Gandhi by the Uttar Pradesh Police and demanded her immediate release.

JKPCC president Ghulam Ahmed Mir, who was leading the protest, was detained along with other party members.

Congress leaders and workers demanded strict action against the UP Police amid sloganeering against the UP government and the Center arresting priyanka gandhiThose who were on their way to meet the families of the slain farmers.

Congress leaders and workers were stopped by the police outside the party headquarters on Maulana Azad Road.

Before the detention, the JKPCC president addressed hundreds of party workers at the party headquarters in Srinagar.

“The Congress party will not bow down to vandalism and illegal detention, rather it will further strengthen our resolve to fight against the BJP, which is responsible for the crisis across the country,” Mir said.
