Drugs case: Court sends all four accused to NCB custody

A court here on Tuesday remanded four persons to the custody of Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in a case related to seizure of banned drugs from a cruise ship off the Mumbai coast, which had Bollywood superstar’s son Aryan Khan. Shah Rukh Khan, is also an accused.

The anti-drug agency has so far arrested 12 people including Aryan Khan by raiding the Goa-bound ship on Saturday. On Tuesday, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate RM Nerlikar remanded Abdul Qadir Sheikh (30), Shreyas Nair (23), Manish Rajgaria (26) and Avin Sahu (30) to NCB custody till October 11.

The four accused have been booked under sections 8(c) (production, manufacture, possession, sale or purchase of narcotics) and 27 (punishment for the use of any narcotic substance or drugs) and 27A (financing of illegal traffic and harboring criminals). Punishment for giving) a case was registered. Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS).

The court on Monday sent Aryan Khan (23) and seven others to NCB custody till Thursday. The NCB had told the court that “shocking and objectionable” material recovered in WhatsApp chats of Aryan Khan and two others arrested in connection with the case showed international drug trafficking.

The NCB had also claimed that Aryan Khan is discussing payment methods for (drugs) purchases in WhatsApp chats and that multiple code names are being used.

Aryan Khan’s lawyer had claimed that drugs were not recovered from his client.
