Jharkhand: Mob thrashes four policemen, 10 arrested, raid continues

Four policemen were thrashed by a mob in Palamu district of Jharkhand. Ten people, including a woman, were arrested in this case and efforts are on to nab the others.

Police said all the accused have been sent to judicial custody. Let us inform that on Friday night, four policemen, including an officer, were thrashed by the mob, mistaking them as forest officers. The incident took place after the police said that a villager was injured by the officer’s vehicle.

According to the police, Manatu police station in-charge Pankaj Kumar along with his policemen was returning in his jeep after presenting an accused woman in the court, but the local people believed that it was the same forest department vehicle which was involved in the accident. After this everyone together attacked him. The personnel received injuries in this attack.

Superintendent of Police Chandan Kumar Sinha said that strict action would be taken against the culprits. The SP said that raids are being conducted to arrest the others involved in the incident.
