The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday registered an FIR in connection with the death of an Additional District Judge in Dhanbad, Jharkhand. The Jharkhand government had on Saturday recommended a CBI inquiry into the alleged murder case of the judge.
Additional District Judge Uttam Anand, posted in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district, died under suspicious circumstances after being hit by a vehicle on Wednesday. In connection with the murder of the judge, the Dhanbad police have arrested two people and the auto used in the incident has also been confiscated. Both the accused have been identified as Lakhan Kumar Verma and Rahul Verma. He has confessed his crime.
Jharkhand government constitutes SIT
This case of crushing the judge has been considered very serious. The Supreme Court has also expressed concern in the matter. The Jharkhand High Court also took the matter seriously and heard it. The High Court has sought a response from the government. In the High Court, the DGP said that SIT has been constituted regarding the matter. At the same time, the High Court made it clear that if there is no satisfactory investigation, the case will be transferred to the CBI. After this the state government had decided to investigate with the CBI.
