At least 14 people were charred to death and several others injured in a massive fire that broke out in a multi-storey building in Jharkhand’s Dhanbad district on Tuesday.

The fire broke out around 6 pm at Ashirwad Tower in Jorphatak area of ​​Dhanbad, about 160 km from state capital Ranchi.

Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Sandeep Singh said, “Many people suffered burn injuries in the fire. Many others were injured. Rescue operations are on.”
Singh, who is monitoring the operation on the spot along with senior police officers, said the exact number of casualties and injuries was yet to be ascertained.

“14 people died and 12 others were injured in a fire at an apartment in Dhanbad. Many people had gone to the apartment to attend a wedding function. The cause of the fire is still not known. We are on the rescue They are concentrating. The injured have been shifted to the hospital,” said SSP Dhanbad Sanjeev Kumar.
