New Delhi: After a stellar performance in ‘Kabir Singh’, Shahid Kapoor is all set to make a comeback on the big screen with his upcoming film ‘Jersey’. The actor will be seen playing the role of a cricketer in ‘Jersey’ and the film stars Mrunal Thakur in the lead role.
Shahid Kapoor’s fans are eagerly waiting for the trailer and finally after a long wait the makers of ‘Jersey’ have released the trailer of this film.
The trailer takes viewers through the life of a former cricketer played by Shahid Kapoor and his wife played by Mrunal Thakur. It is a tug of war between the protagonist’s love for his family, the various complexities he faces and his passion for cricket. A man in his mid-30s returned to cricket, with a dream to one day represent Team India and fulfill his son’s wish for a jersey as a gift.
Apart from Shahid and Mrunal, ‘Jersey’ also stars Pankaj Kapur in a pivotal role. The scintillating performances of the entire cast in the trailer of ‘Jersey’ make it one of the most awaited films of the year.
Yesterday, the ‘Udta Punjab’ actor shared a post and revealed that he has waited 2 years to share this sentiment with the audience. Sharing a poster, he wrote, ‘It’s time! We have waited 2 years to share this sentiment with you. This story is special. This team is special. This character is special. ‘Jersey’ is all set to release in theaters on December 31, 2021. The sports drama written and directed by Gowtham Tinnanuri is a remake of the 2019 film of the same name, in which Nani played the protagonist.
