New Delhi: Krishna Janmashtami is celebrated across the country to commemorate the birth of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of Vishnu. It is celebrated every year on the eighth day of the Krishna Paksha and according to the Hindu calendar, the occasion generally overlaps between August and September. This year Krishna Janmashtami will be celebrated across the country on 30th August. On the occasion of Janmashtami, not only the birth of Krishna but his union with Radha is celebrated with much fanfare all over the country.
