JAM trinity has taken banking to a different level: Nirmala Sitharaman – Times of India

Aurangabad: Union Finance Minister Nirmala sitharaman Said on Thursday that ‘jam’ (Jan Dhan-Aadhaar-Mobile) Trinity has been a game changer for India, enabling them to drive financial inclusion in the format of the future.
“JAM Trinity took our banking to a whole different level by bringing in the financially excluded, saving theft, and distributing government benefits to the genuine beneficiaries, providing citizens with SMS updates on their bank transactions, ’ he said while addressing the inauguration. The session of ‘Manthan’ Conclave is being organized in Aurangabad.
The Finance Minister said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi It was clear that using JAM Trinity, financial inclusion can be better achieved without any inconvenience to anyone.
“Jam Trinity is a game changer for a country like India, it was futuristic and touched on the philosophy of Sab Ka Saath, Sab Ka Vikas, Sab Ka Vishwas. Its aim was to reach out to the last man in the line, people from the farthest corners and untouched areas and those who are far from the mainstream, without any discrimination.
Sitharaman said PMJDY accounts helped the government to reach out to all, even if the accounts were zero balance accounts. Even those who were hesitant to go mainstream, were brought in and convinced with their account opening, distribution of RuPay cards and insurance cover.
He said that the financial inclusion brought about by Jan Dhan is during a pandemic as severe as the COVID-19 pandemic. He said that it is because of Jan Dhan that many people and small businesses have got collateral-free loans.
Sitharaman said Aadhaar linkage has saved the country from much theft, enabling the government to direct funds to the actual beneficiaries. “Aadhaar seeding of bank accounts gave us instant KYC benefits. This has enabled the beneficiaries to get the benefits directly into their Jan Dhan and KYC-verified accounts.”
Bhagwat, Minister of State for Finance addressing the gathering karadi Highlighted the change brought about by the financial inclusion programs of the government. He asked the bankers to focus on those ‘aspirational districts’ which are yet to achieve the financial inclusion target.
Karad also mentioned that a decision will be taken to make MUDRA loans more hassle-free and available to those who want to start a business.
At present, there are 43.23 crore beneficiary accounts under PMJDY in India. The Center has in recent years launched a series of indigenous platforms to facilitate quick, secure and equitable banking. For example, the BHIM UPI application is now a quintessential component of the Indian market. It has also recently introduced e-RUPI Voucher facility to reduce the need of internet for financial transactions.
The Manthan conference in Aurangabad aims to further the government’s goal of financial inclusion through technology.
