Jalandhar: Father Moves Furniture At Home, Finds Three Missing Daughters Dead In Trunk

Jalandhar: Three minor daughters were found dead inside a trunk in Punjab’s Jalandhar on Monday morning when the father was shifting items in house. As he felt the trunk heavier than usual, he got suspicious and opened the box to find out his missing daughters.

According to a complaint, the girls, aged between 4 and 9 years old were missing since Sunday. The incident took place in Kanpur village of the district. Police said the parents of the victims filed a missing complaint at Maqsudan police station when they did not find the minors at home after returning from work.

The girls were aged 4, 7 and 9 years respectively. Police detained their bodies and sent them for autopsies to determine the cause of death.

The parents of the deceased used are immigrant workers and have five children. The girls’ bodies were found piled up in the trunk while moving furniture around his house on Monday, he noticed that the trunk of his car was heavier than usual.

Police said that after opening the box, he was shocked to see the bodies of his three daughters inside. PTI reported that the girls’ father was recently asked by the landlord to leave the house due to his drinking habit.

The owner told police that the dead girl’s father often drank alcohol. The child’s parents were detained by police for questioning. Police said further investigation into the matter is underway.
