Jaishankar meets Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore, discusses strengthening bilateral ties

SingaporeExternal Affairs Minister S Jaishankar on Wednesday met Singapore’s Deputy Minister Lawrence Wong in the island country and discussed strengthening bilateral ties. In addition, the two leaders also exchanged views on the global political and economic situation. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Dr Jaishankar said, “Glad to meet DPM and Finance Minister @LawrenceWongST in Singapore.

“We had good discussions on taking our bilateral partnership to the next level,” he said.

They also exchanged views on the global political and economic situation.

The foreign minister also thanked Singapore’s defense minister for hosting him and said, “Always benefit from his (Lawrence Wong’s) insight and vision.”

India-Singapore relations are based on shared values, convergence of interests on key issues and economic opportunities. There is regular political engagement between the two countries while economic and technological ties are growing and broadening.
