Jagannath Rath Yatra 2022: Railways to run 205 special trains from July 1

After two years, the pilgrims will finally get a chance to participate in the celebration of Lord Jagannath in Puri, Odisha. The Odisha government expects 10 lakh pilgrims to gather in the temple town this year. Therefore, in order to provide convenient and comfortable travel to the passengers, the Indian Railways will run 205 special trains for Rath Yatra at Puri in Odisha from July 1, an East Coast Railway (ECoR) official said.

The official said the special trains will run from Shalimar near Kolkata, Jagdalpur in Chhattisgarh and Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh besides various parts of Odisha, connecting Puri. He said that arrangements have been made for smooth movement of passengers on the days of Rath Yatra, Bahuda Jatra, Sandhya Darshan and Sunabhesa.

Complete Schedule of Rath Yatra Special Trains:

– 08907/08908 Visakhapatnam-Puri-Visakhapatnam Rath Yatra Special: This special train will leave Visakhapatnam at 1430 hrs on 30.06.2022 and will reach Puri at 01.07.2022 at 0115 hrs.

– 08911/08912 Junagadh Road – Puri – Junagadh Road Rath Yatra Special Express via Sambalpur & Talcher Road: Train will depart Junagadh Road at 1100 hrs on 30.06.2022.

– 08418/08417 Gunupur-Puri-Gunupur Rath Yatra Special Express from Gunupur : Train will depart on 30.06.2022 at 2330 hrs

– 08909/08910 Jagadalpur-Puri-Jagadalpur Rath Yatra Special Via Rayagada & Vizianagaram: The train will leave Jagadalpur at 1830hrs on 30.06.2022.

– 02891/02810 Bhubaneswar-Puri-Bhubaneswar Rath Yatra Special: It will depart from Bhubaneswar at 1005 hrs and in turn will depart from Puri at 1510 hrs between 1st July to 11th July 2022.

– 08931/08932 Sambalpur-Puri-Sambalpur Rath Yatra Special via Naraj Marthapur & Talcher Road: The train will depart Sambalpur at 2130 hrs on 30.06.2022 and in turn will depart Puri at 01.07.2022 at 2025 hrs.

Odisha DGP Sunil Bansal said 180 platoon police and over 1,000 officers would be deployed in and around Puri during the festival to ensure the safe conduct of the Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath.

After holding a meeting to review the security arrangements for the festival, he said adequate police personnel were being deployed in the city so that devotees could have a safe darshan of the deities.
