Jagan cabinet 2.0 to take oath tomorrow: 17 ministers likely from SC, ST, minorities. special list here

Sources said that at least 17 of the 25 ministers in Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy’s new cabinet — to ensure caste and regional balance before the 2024 elections — will be from SC, ST, BC and minority communities. The earlier cabinet had 14 leaders from these communities.

Sources said that it will also have 10 senior ministers from the previous cabinet.

While the announcement is expected at 7 pm, the swearing-in ceremony will take place on Monday.

The list has been submitted to Andhra Pradesh Governor Biswa Bhushan Harichandan. He has accepted the resignations of all the 24 ministers of the previous cabinet.

Sources gave News18 a list of possible 25 cabinet ministers.

These include Dharmana Prasad Rao, Sidiri Appalaraju, Botsa Satyanarayana, P. Rajanna Dora, Gudivada Amarnath, Buddi Muthyala Naidu, Dadishetty Raja, Pinipe Vishwaroopam and Cheluboina Venugopalkrishna.

When Reddy took over as CM on May 30, 2019, he had announced that he would completely reform his cabinet after two and a half years and get a new team. The present cabinet took oath on June 8, 2019.

“In view of the upcoming elections in 2024, the CM has taken a lot of precautions to expand his cabinet. Reddy has finalized a new list of cabinet ministers on the basis of caste, religion and districts, with a focus on social engineering.

He also said that the CM should get better options to fight the Telugu Desam Party, Janasena and even the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

“It is high time. We have to balance the party and the government. We have to come back in 2024,” he had said.
