ED summons Jacqueline Fernandez to testify as a witness in money laundering case

Jacqueline finally appeared before the central probe agency on the due date after thrice deferring the ED’s summons in the 200 crore money laundering case. He had earlier cited personal reasons for not appearing before the ED. On Saturday (October 23), the actress’ spokesperson released a statement that she has ‘duly recorded her statement’ for the same.
“Jacqueline Fernandez is being called by the ED to testify as a witness. She has recorded her statement and will fully cooperate with the investigation in future also,” the actress’s spokesperson said in a statement.
A few days back, both Jacqueline and Nora Fatehi had appeared before the ED for help in the interrogation. According to the ED, Sukesh Chandrashekhar had promised to pay a hefty amount to Jacqueline and Nora besides film director Sajid Nadiadwala in the case of extortion of Rs 200 crore.
Also, Sukesh Chandrasekhar wanted to launch his wife Malayalam actress Leena Paul in a Bollywood film. In the film Madras Cafe, Leena played a character for which her husband Sukesh had paid a hefty amount. To bring his wife to Bollywood, Sukesh had also talked to many producers and directors and asked not to take any tension about money. Presently he and his wife are in ED remand.
It had claimed in a statement that Chandrashekhar is a “known thug” and is being investigated by the Delhi Police for alleged criminal conspiracy, cheating and extortion of around Rs 200 crore. The ED said, “Chandrasekhar is the mastermind of this fraud. He has been a part of the crime world since the age of 17. There are several FIRs registered against him and presently he is lodged in Rohini Jail (in connection with the Delhi Police case). ” last state.
