A businessman was killed in Raina in East Burdwan. It is learned that earlier also there have been attempts to attack the businessman. Last August, a miscreant had hurled a petrol bomb at the businessman’s house in Howrah. That news was also published in the media. After that, the slain businessman Sabyasachi Mandal lodged a complaint with the police station expressing the possibility of death.

According to police sources, on August 8, a petrol bomb was hurled at Sabyasachibabu’s house in New Senapati Lane in Shibpur, Howrah. He came early in the morning wearing a black helmet on his head and dropped a petrol bomb. A fire broke out in the window of Sabyasachibabu’s house. After this he went to Shibpur police station and lodged a complaint. Told, this work belongs to his uncle. He did this because of a property dispute. Being suspicious, he informed the police.




The police scanned the CCTV footage of the area during the investigation. It shows a man wearing a black helmet and throwing petrol bombs from the bag. However, the police are yet to announce progress in the investigation of the incident.

Sabyasachibabu’s father has blamed his younger brother’s two sons Dinabandhu and Somnath for the murder of his son. Sabyasachi Mandal, a polythene trader from Howrah, was stabbed to death at his village house in Burdwan’s Deriyapur at around 8.30 pm on Friday.
