Rajasthan: Former Rajasthan Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot said on Sunday that his agitation against Ashok Gehlot’s government would continue. Pilot will not back down from the stand he took against his government regarding the action against corruption in the previous BJP government. The former deputy CM said that it has been two weeks since one day’s fast was observed on April 11, but no action has been taken in such cases.

“No action taken yet”

“Speaking the truth, raising voice against corruption and injustice is one of the values of the Congress party. Following these values, I fasted for a day on 11th April. It’s been two weeks today, still no action Has been.” Sachin Pilot said.

“After offering prayers at the Jhadkhar temple (Shiv temple), Pilot spoke to the media and said, “Therefore, I am humbly requesting the government to fulfill the promises made to the people,” Pilot told reporters here. The demand for action against corruption is being termed as ‘anti-party’ activity.

ACB took action

He welcomed the action taken by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) which arrested several corrupt IAS, IPS, RAS and other officers. He said, “The chief minister himself had said that the ACB is active and they have raided many corrupt officials, which we all welcome. But when they came to power after being in opposition for five years, we never said that we would Patwari or officer will be arrested.” Pilot said, we had said that we will take action in the cases of corruption during the tenure of Vasundhara ji.

After Pilot’s one-day fast, Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot had said that the ACB has arrested many corrupt IAS, IPS officers, which has not happened anywhere in the country. The people voted for the people as corruption was a big issue before the Congress came to power, he said, adding that since there was little time left for the assembly elections, action should be taken.

Pilot said, “If we all raise the corruption of the BJP or I raise the issues of corruption of the previous Vasundhara Raje government and demand action on them, then I believe it is in the party’s advantage.”
