It is the duty of the state to provide security to Shuvendu Adhikari, AG tells court

It is the responsibility of the state to provide security to Shuvendu Adhikari. This was stated by the Advocate General of the State in the case filed by the Leader of the Opposition in the Calcutta High Court seeking permission to visit the Netai. He also said that Shuvendubabu does not need any permission to visit Netai. The state government will provide security only if the program is announced in advance. As a result, there was no impediment for Shuvendubbur to go to Netai on Friday.

Shuvendubabu visits Netai every year on January 8 to pay homage to the killed villagers. Even after joining the BJP from the grassroots level, that rule was not broken. But this time, he approached the Calcutta High Court on January 2, fearing that the state government might stifle his attempt to become a leader by using the corona rule. The hearing is scheduled to begin on Thursday. Earlier, the court had directed the state government to provide security to Shuvendu Adhikari.

In today’s hearing, the Advocate General said, “Shuvendubabu does not need any permission to go to Netai. It is the responsibility of the state to ensure its safety. If the state is informed in advance of when and where it will go, appropriate security measures will be put in place. According to sources, Shuvendubabu can reach Netai on Friday between 12 noon and 4 pm.
