Texas Instruments on Thursday announced the appointment of Israeli-American Haviv Ilan as the chip company’s new CEO.
He will replace the semiconductor maker’s longtime executive Rich Templeton in April after 18 years in the position.
Ilan, 54, joined the Dallas-based firm in 1999 after it bought his Israeli tech startup Butterfly. He currently serves as a senior vice president at Texas Instruments, whose chips and technology are used worldwide in the production of calculators, aircraft, cars, cellphones and televisions.
