ISL 2021-22: 100% crowd allowed for final at Goa Stadium

The Goa government’s apex committee of COVID-19 experts has given its approval for 100% utilization of stadium seating capacity for the Indian Super League final.

The upcoming final of the Indian Super League (ISL) may be held with 100 per cent crowd at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Goa, it was announced on Thursday.

The Goa government’s apex committee of experts on COVID-19 at a meeting here took forward 100 per cent utilization of stadium seating capacity in view of the improvement in the pandemic situation in the state, an official said.

The committee, which has medical professionals as members, held a meeting to discuss the proposal to allow final matches of the country’s top football league with 100 per cent capacity at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Fatorda, South Goa, on the Goa Medical College and Hospital premises. met for

The meeting was presided over by Dr. Shivanand Bandekar, Dean, GMCH.

After the meeting, Bandekar told reporters that the committee has given its approval for the final match with 100 per cent capacity in view of the COVID-19 situation in the state.

He said that the stadium entry for the final match will be restricted to spectators who have received both the doses of the COVID-19 vaccine or who have a COVID-19 negative test certificate.

The ISL final will be played between Kerala Blasters and Hyderabad FC on March 20.
