SLB was able to bring out the side of the actor which the audience had never seen on screen before. While many doubted whether Alia would suit a gritty role like Gangubai, she stunned everyone with her scintillating performance. The two were all set to team up again for Baiju Bawra, however, with Alia announcing her pregnancy, rumors were rife that she might not be a part of the project anymore. Now, a recent report suggests that is not the case at all.

Although Deepika was keen to do Baiju Bawra, three back-to-back collaborations with Sanjay Bhansali After missing out on Gangubai Kathiawadi after the -back epics, Alia was finalized for the role while shooting for Gangubai and it remains unchanged.”
There was also talk of who would play the male lead, and SLB was considering Ranbir Kapoor. However, the latest buzz suggests that Ranveer Singh might play the role.

Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh have already shared the screen in Gully Boy and are part of Rocky and Rani’s love story, which will mark Karan Johar’s return as director after the 2016 film Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. Alia is also making her Bollywood debut and is currently shooting for it in London. Titled Heart of Stone, it also stars Gal Gadot and Jamie Dornan. She will next be seen in Darlings and in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra: Part 1 Shiva, where she will be seen sharing screen space with Ranbir Kapoor for the first time.
