According to state media reports on Saturday, two Iranian security personnel were killed after four terrorists allegedly attacked a police station. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps said the terrorists were later killed.

The attack took place at a police station in the city of Zahedan in Iran’s Sistan and Baluchestan province, the AP reported citing state media.

The militant group were armed with hand grenades and were trying to reach the police station, said Alireza Marhamati, the province’s deputy governor. Two security forces were killed in the ensuing attack.

Meanwhile, two terrorists were hanged allegedly for their involvement in the deadly attack on Shah Cheragh Mosque, Iran’s second holiest site, on October 26. At least 13 people were killed and 30 were injured in the attack.

A few days after the attack, one of the gunmen died during his arrest.
