Shubman Gill took the Orange Cap from Faf du Plessis as Mohammed Shami maintained his lead over teammate Rashid Khan.

Shubman Gill played a knock of 129 runs to help Gujarat Titans (GT) thrash Mumbai Indians (MI) by 62 runs in the 2023 Indian Premier League (IPL) Qualifier 2 at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. With the win, GT sealed their place in the IPL 2023 final against Chennai Super Kings at the same venue on Sunday.

Gill’s 60-ball knock – his third century in four IPL innings – powered Gujarat to 233–3, a total they defended as they bowled out five-time winners Mumbai for 171 in 18.2 overs in the last playoff clash in Ahmedabad.

The mega clash also affected the Orange Cap and Purple Cap lists.
