Fans on Twitter were left disappointed as Rohit failed to convert his good starts into big scores.

Rohit Sharma’s poor run in the Indian Premier League continued as he once again failed to convert a good start into a big score during the Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Gujarat Titans. Rohit, who hasn’t been at his best in recent times, got off to a strong start against the defending champions. He played some good shots in the powerplay to get off to a good start. He hit two fours and a six in the second over of the innings bowled by Mohit Sharma.

Things were looking bright for him and even the Wankhede fans were enjoying his batting, but a magical delivery from Rashid Khan in the middle ended it.

It was just after the powerplay and Rashid bowled a leg break which Rohit failed to read and went behind the stumps where Rahul Tewatia took a sharp catch at first slip. He got out after scoring 29 runs off 18 balls with the help of three fours and two sixes.

Fans on Twitter were left disappointed as Rohit failed to convert his good starts into big scores.

Rohit has scored only 220 runs in 12 matches so far this season. Meanwhile, before the GT clash, he was struggling badly and failed to register double-digit scores in his last five innings (before Friday) – 2, 3, 0, 0 and 7.

Earlier, Gujarat Titans captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and elected to field against his former team Mumbai Indians.

Both sides remained unchanged, however, Rohit admitted that he would have preferred to bowl first on the Wankhede track.

“We would have done the same (bowling), we need to bat and bowl really well. Things are coming along well in the last few matches. We understand where we stand at the moment, just focus on the game at hand,” Rohit said at the toss.
