After announcing that David Warner will lead Delhi Capitals, the franchise unveiled its new jersey for the IPL 2023 season
Delhi Capitals unveiled their new jersey for the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 campaign on Sunday, March 19. The franchise took to its social media handle to share the first glimpse of the threads its players will be seen donning in the upcoming season.
The jersey is very similar to their kit from the previous season, with red and blue as the primary colors as has been the case in recent seasons. A lion’s face is emblazoned on the jersey behind the logos of the primary sponsors.
The jerseys were unveiled at an event held in Delhi, where children from the Savera Association were among the first to don the kits, along with some of the DC players present at the venue.

Later, the franchise shared a picture of their captain for the IPL 2023 campaign, along with David Warner, Axar Patel and Prithvi Shaw in their new jerseys.
With Rishabh Pant ruled out of the upcoming season due to his car accident in early December, Warner will be seen leading the Capitals.
DC shared a tweet explaining the significance of the red and blue colors along with the lion’s face in their jerseys.
Red stood for the ‘fierce beginning’, blue stood for ‘vibrancy, energy and youth’. On the other hand, the lion’s face symbolized ‘fearless attitude and courageous attitude’.
The Capitals, who missed out on a playoff spot last season and earned 14 points in as many games, will look to improve on their fifth-place finish from the previous campaign.
Warner & Co will begin their IPL 2023 campaign against KL Rahul’s Lucknow Super Giants at the Ekana on Saturday, April 1 Play City Stadium of Lucknow.
