Chasing 190, 12 runs needed from the last 2 balls, Rahul Tewatia sent Punjab Kings pacer Odion Smith’s last 2 balls into the deep mid-wicket stand, leaving star after star in the face of captain Hardik Pandya. But the smile came. In the final over of a tense chase, the all-rounder ended up bleeding on his run out. ,

Tewatia scored 13 runs in just 3 balls, which included sixes in the last two balls of the match.

With his heroic effort in the final over, Rahul Tevia joined MS Dhoni in an elite list of batsmen to hit 2 sixes when 12 runs were needed from the last 2 balls to win an IPL match. Dhoni hit 2 sixes in the last two balls against left-arm spinner Axar Patel to win the IPL match for Rising Pune Super Giants against Punjab Kings (then Kings XI Punjab).

Notably, Ravindra Jadeja also hit 2 sixes to finish an IPL game for Chennai Super Kings against Kolkata Knight Riders in IPL 2022, but CSK needed just 7 from the last two balls in that game.
