IPL 2022 Final: Jos Buttler gets emotional while remembering Shane Warne

Unfortunately, Warne passed away earlier this year while on holiday in Thailand in March. The Rajasthan Royals franchise had earlier paid tribute to their former captain Warne. Rajasthan team manager Romi Bhinder shared a heartwarming anecdote while talking about Warne. In a tribute video posted by the franchise, Bhinder recalled how Butler high-fives a picture of Warne.

“We have put up a picture of him where his hand is outstretched. A few days ago, I saw Jose giving high-fives and saying ‘Legend’, Bhinder said in a tribute video posted by Rajasthan Royals ahead of the IPL match against Mumbai Indians.

Within no time the picture went viral.

Fans and followers of the game reacted to that image on Twitter.

Talking about the incident, a certain Twitter user wrote, “Jos Buttler was in tears while talking about Shane Warne.”

Another user narrated how Buttler and Rajasthan captain Sanju Samson wanted to win the IPL title for Warne. In his tweet, the user wrote, ‘Jos Butler wept remembering the late #ShaneWarne. Even Rajasthan skipper Sanju Samson said that they want to win the trophy for Shane Warne. Jos Butler.”

Another user shared a video of Warne’s high-fiving photo of Butler. The user wrote in the caption, ‘Shane Warne was the first ‘Royal’; Joss Butler is ‘Ruler Raj’. Good Luck Rajasthan Royals. #IPL2022.”

A person shared a collage of Warne and Butler and in its caption, he wrote, “Butler remembered RR’s IPL title winning captain Shane Warne.”

Rajasthan managed to reach the final of the 15th season of the IPL but lost to Gujarat Titans by seven wickets. Batting first, the Sanju Samson-led side managed to post a total of 130/9 in 20 overs. Buttler scored 39 runs in 35 balls and emerged as the highest scorer for his side.

In reply, the team led by Hardik Pandya reached the target with 11 balls to spare.
