International arrivals: Center updated rules, ‘at risk’ list; Scindia whips at airports – Times of India

New Delhi: India has removed Bangladesh from its list of Omicron among at-risk countries and added Ghana and Tanzania with the aim of mandating additional measures for arrivals from there.

Exemption form from “… Air Suvidha The portal has been closed, and filling of details has been made mandatory for all international traveler Coming to India. All international travelers arriving in India are required to declare their current health status before boarding on the Air Suvidha portal along with the required documents: copy of passport, PCR negative certificate from test done within 72 hours of departure and vaccination proof Letter. For immigration, the copy received in e-mail on arrival in India is required and it has to be verified at the Airport Health Officer (APHO) counter,” the aviation ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
In a tweet, Union Aviation Minister JM Scindia Said: “Took stock of the preparedness, testing capabilities and the situation on the ground with regard to crowd management at both private and AAI airports. An action plan has been drawn up with 8 compliances on immigration queues, expansion of RT-PCR service providers, improvement of help desk and forex counters as well as seamless floor management. Rest assured, the ministry is monitoring the situation on a daily basis and passengers will not face any inconvenience at the airports.

The list of risks updated on Monday includes people in Europe, the UK; South Africa; Brazil; Botswana; China; Ghana; Mauritius; New Zealand; Zimbabwe; Singapore; Tanzania; Hong Kong and Israel.
The ministry says the portal has been strengthened “to accommodate the travel guidelines issued on November 30, 2021” to “ensure smooth passage of international travelers arriving in India”.
Updates include: “All applications from ‘at risk’ countries are marked with H and red bands and others are green. This helps to smoothen the isolation and processing on arrival. Stay tuned with the Union Health Ministry’s updates This list is updated dynamically for each year. The application also takes into account the countries visited in the last 14 days to highlight the ‘at risk’ applications. Multi-select drop-down option to standardize this field Also designed in…. Travelers to ‘at risk’ countries are advised to pre-book their test on arrival test and a link to the relevant testing facility is provided to the passengers.
All international passengers coming/going from at-risk countries are required to submit a self-declaration form on the Air Suvidha Portal; Upload negative RT-PCR report (done 72 hours before travel); COVID-19 test at the airport upon arrival (self-paid); Home quarantine for 7 days and re-test on 8th day and self-health monitoring for next 7 days if negative.
The ministry’s statement said, “Since the new travel guidelines on 30 November 2021, the Air Suvidha portal has assisted 2.5 lakh passengers from 1-5 December, 2021. Over 1 crore since the launch in August 2020.” Passengers have benefited from the portal.”
