New Delhi: Smartphone users in India spend at least 92 minutes a day watching videos on their smartphones and about 89 minutes a day browsing the Internet. The report highlights that internet users in India have increased their time online by an average of 3.4 hours per day due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. “Students and the working population have also added two to three hours per day for remote study and work. “91% surveyed use the Android operating system while only 7% use iOS. It said that the majority of people (25%) spent their time on a smartphone for film/video, compared to browsing (19%) and voice calls (10%).
Giving a glimpse of the future of 5G in India, ericsson said that four out of five smartphone users are interested in getting a 5G handset during 2021. Other findings from this report claimed, “36% of Indians believed it was okay to monitor people’s information to prevent crime, while 13% felt the same way globally. ”
IT also highlighted that 20% of smartphone users stand for 60% of ARPU and 86% of data traffic. “Seven out of 10 believe their current mobile provider is the market leader in most regions, with 58% of all smartphone users ranking their mobile service operator as the expected market leader in 5G,” it said. said.
