Indian students wake up to hearing explosions in Ukraine following Russian attack | India News – Times of India

HYDERABAD: Indian students woke up to a start on Thursday as they heard explosions following Russian President Vladimir Putin declaring a ‘special military action’ in Ukraine,
“I was sleeping. My friends called me to say they heard explosions,” a medical student Sohail, who hails from Hyderabad, told TOI from Ukraine.
Students of the Indian community are on tenterhooks as they have started sharing videos of the explosions and bombings at different places. Because of the tense situation between Russia and Ukraine, the students were advised by the Indian embassy in Ukraine to leave the country temporarily.
“We heard there have been missile attacks in other cities,” an Indian student said.
Another student, Rasmi from Guntur in Andhra Pradesh, left Ukraine after the advisory. “I am now in Oman,” she said on Thursday.
Students who have booked their tickets back home (to India) are now wondering whether the travel will be possible because of the attack on Ukraine,
There ae nearly 20,000 Indian students pursuing medical courses and in other streams of education in Ukraine.
