Indian IT company launches 4-day work week, says step towards ‘future of work’

The four-day work week has been discussed for a long time. Indian cyber security company TAC Security has shifted to a four-day work week, a move the company claims will eventually lead to better productivity. As a pilot project, the firm said it will close its office in Mumbai on Friday for seven months for better productivity.

The company also cited that it has taken steps to adapt to the “future of work” and has decided to focus on empowering employees to have a healthy work-life balance and a cheerful workforce in return. After the announcement a lot of employees signed up for various courses and activities, re-establishing the trust of the organizations in their decisions and results. Additionally, the company also stated that it intends to make the policy permanent at its Mumbai office if the new work week makes workers more productive and happy, the report further stated.

The IT company on Monday said it conducted an internal survey that showed 80 percent of its team members were willing to work longer hours four days a week to get a longer weekend to focus on their personal commitments and growth. . The TAC also said that after the announcement many employees signed up for various courses and activities, which reaffirms the organization’s confidence in their decisions and results.
