Indian Army medical team rescues pregnant woman amid heavy snowfall

The Indian Army on Saturday rescued a pregnant woman from Ghaggar Hill village in Jammu and Kashmir from heavy snowfall along the Line of Control (LoC).

Intermittent snowfall is occurring in many parts of Kashmir. Light to moderate snowfall was recorded in the plains of Kashmir, moderate to heavy falls, very heavy at isolated places, in the higher reaches of the valley, officials said. It also rained in some parts.

Earlier today, as air traffic between Kashmir and the rest of the country was affected due to low visibility and inclement weather, at least 10 flights were canceled on Saturday and many were delayed and overnight at most places in the Valley. The snowfall continued.

Broadband and fiber internet lines also came to a standstill at many places in Srinagar. An avalanche warning was issued on Friday after the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicted heavy snowfall in parts of Kashmir.
