Meanwhile, former India pacer and Rahane’s domestic partner Zaheer Khan has said that the Mumbai batsman needs just one innings to get back into form. “It has been a mixed performance for Ajinkya Rahane. there is no doubt about it. He is under tremendous pressure. That is the fact. For any cricketer, mental strength is needed to get out of such phases. The good thing is that you are still there and you are an innings away. As a batsman or cricketer, you should have such confidence.”
“According to my personal experience, if someone is going through a bad phase, you have to believe that you are just one innings or one good innings away from that good performance. If you hit it, things change pretty fast too. This is the advice I would give to Ajinkya at this stage. As a cricketer, you need to accept these challenges and face them,” said Zaheer Khan while speaking to Times of India in an interview.
