“Efforts will continue to bring back all our Pakistani prisoners from India on completion of their sentences,” the Pakistani mission said on Twitter.

India on Friday repatriated 17 Pakistani nationals imprisoned in the country, the Pakistan High Commission here said.

“Seventeen Pakistani nationals are in captivity India Brought back through Attari-Wagah border today after enormous efforts by Pakistan High Commission, Pakistan Foreign Ministry and cooperation from Indian side,” the Pakistani mission said on Twitter.

It added, “Our efforts will continue to bring back all Pakistani prisoners from India on completion of their sentences.”

The Ministry of External Affairs had said in a statement that on January 1, India had shared with Pakistan a list of 339 Pakistani civilian prisoners and 95 Pakistani fishermen.

He had said that Pakistan has shared a list of 51 civilian prisoners and 654 fishermen in its custody who are Indians or believed to be Indians.
