India is all set to take on Pakistan in the upcoming ICC World T20 and the former cricketer is already preparing for the event. Former cricketer Gautam Gambhir, who had a love-hate relationship with arch-rivals while playing, has said that India is ‘far better’ than Pakistan.
“Expectations from Pakistan are also going to be very high, and at this point of time, if you see, India is far superior to Pakistan. Yes, in T20 format, anyone can beat anyone because it is a very individual type of format, and we should not take any team lightly. For example, you should not take Afghanistan lightly. People like Rashid Khan can be troublesome. Same is the case with Pakistan. But, yes, there will be pressure on Pakistan,” he said on Star Sport’s ‘game plan’.
He also called Group 1 the ‘Group of Death’. There are two groups of tournaments: Group 1 and Group 2. The group that Gambhir mentioned has several legends: England, West Indies, South Africa and Australia.
“Group 1 is a group of deaths, and it’s a really real group. You’ve got four teams in there and they’re playing on the first day of the T20 World Cup, which is going to be very exciting on Saturday. The kind of firepower it has. With that West Indies have always been unpredictable – they can win a third time too. England’s got firepower; they’ve probably got the most consecutive white-ball team in the last few years after winning the 50-over World Cup. Australia really off the radar Got out, probably because a lot of the core players are missing, but then again, I think they can be very dangerous on that particular day.”
