All the players selected for the Ireland T20 are going home for a three-day break. Although there is no bio-bubble, he did not have family with him for the series and some have been playing non-stop since the IPL. It is appropriate that they spend some time at home,” a senior BCCI source told PTI.

It is learned that all the members of the Ireland-bound team along with NCA chief VVS Laxman will gather in Mumbai on June 23.

“Laxman and the players will be in Mumbai till the 23rd and they will leave for Dublin the next day. Since they are already coming from a chain, you don’t need time to get into the groove. Plus it’s a two-match series, so you won’t need much time to adjust.”

The T20I party, after playing two matches in Malahide on 26 and 28 June, will head to the UK for T20 practice matches, which will coincide with the Test team’s ‘fifth’ match from 1-5 July at Edgbaston last year.

However, it is understood that not all players in the current T20I set-up will be retained for the tour of England, as many will be returning to the regular squad.

“By the time the England white-ball series starts, you will see all the stars playing till T20s.” World cup. There will be no break except for a small series like Zimbabwe.

“Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja will all be back in the mix. The only person who is currently missing is KL Rahul. So some players from the current top-order, fringe pacers or a strange spinner may miss out,” he said.
