India adds 6,396 new COVID cases with 201 deaths in a single day.

COVID-19 India News Updates: 6,396 new cases of Novel Coronavirus have been reported in India, with 201 deaths due to the infection in the last 24 hours. According to the data shared by the Union Health Ministry on Friday (March 4), a total of 13,450 discharges took place in the country in the last 24 hours, taking the total recovery rate to around 98.64 percent and the total recovery data reaching 4,23. 67,070.

The total active cases of COVID-19 in India has come down to 69,897 (0.16%), data from the ministry showed today.

The total death toll in the country now stands at 5,14,589. In India, the first death due to the COVID pandemic was reported in March 2020.

The daily positivity rate stands at 0.69 per cent today.

According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), 77,09,73,356 samples have been tested for COVID-19 till March 3. Of these, 9,23,351 samples were tested on Thursday.

Meanwhile, Delhi reported 326 fresh Covid-19 cases and three deaths on Thursday, according to the data released by the health department. The positivity rate stood at 0.77 percent. With this, the number of cases in the national capital rose to 18,60,887, while the death toll rose to 26,130, said the latest health bulletin. The number of COVID-19 tests conducted a day earlier stood at 42,542.

Delhi had reported 325 cases on Wednesday with a positivity rate of 0.81 per cent and one death.

There has been a decline in the number of daily cases in Delhi after touching a record high of 28,867 on January 13. The city had recorded a positivity rate of 30.6 per cent on January 14, the highest during the ongoing wave of the pandemic.
