The ongoing second Test between India and Sri Lanka on Sunday was abruptly called off after a security breach at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru. On the second day, at the stroke of the stump, three fans entered the ground, dodging the security arrangements.
All of them were caught towards the former captain of the Indian team, Virat Kohli. As reported by news agency PTI, one of the three fans managed to take a selfie with Virat Kohli after which he was chased away by the security personnel.
The incident happened in the sixth over of Sri Lanka’s 447-run chase; When Kusal Mendis was attending with the team physio after being hit by Mohammed Shami’s delivery. Seizing the opportunity to see their star player up close, three fans managed to break through the fenced area and ran towards the players.
One of them managed to get close to Kohli standing in the slip area. The fan took out his mobile and asked the senior batsman for a selfie and Kohli expressed his happiness. The security personnel ran towards the players and after a brief scuffle were able to control the fans.
During the first Test in Mohali, a spectator also managed to enter the field.

Sri Lanka were 28/1 at stumps on the second day and needed 419 runs to beat India in the second and final Test. Resuming their second innings at 199/5 after the dinner break, India added 104 more runs in the third session before declaring 303-9 in the second innings and setting Sri Lanka a target of 447 runs to win.
Shreyas Iyer top-scored for India with 67 runs, while Rishabh Pant scored the fastest fifty by an Indian in just 28 balls. On the other hand, spinner Praveen Jayawickrama was Sri Lanka’s highest wicket-taker with 4-78, while Lasith Embuldeniya took three wickets (3/87).
