Rishabh Pant saved India From a critical condition on the first day of the fifth rescheduled Test match against England on Friday (July 1). The left-handed batsman scored a brilliant century in just 89 balls with 15 fours and a six and was on his way to reach the 100 mark. It was Pant’s fifth century in Test cricket and he certainly knows how to score a century at the best of times (when his team needs it the most). Head coach Rahul Dravid’s reaction to his century was caught on camera and he was excited to see the wicket-keeper batsman get India back in the game at Edgbaston in Birmingham.
India were 98/5 when Pant and Jadeja launched the rescue operation for their team. Pant, who struggled with his bat in the recent home series against South Africa, scored an 89-ball century to bring India back into the competition.

After the century, Pant hugged Ravindra Jadeja and celebrated emotionally with his eyes numb as he raised his bat skyward.
The young left-hander was all praise for the young left-hander who put India in the driving seat after the grim situation against England.

Currently, India have crossed the 300-run mark with a strong batting line-up between Rishabh Pant and Ravindra Jadeja. England will be disappointed with the way they got off to a start with all of India’s batting upper order falling sharply. However, Jadeja and Pant had different plans as they crossed the 200-run mark in terms of partnership and still looked dangerous.
