IND vs AUS 3rd Test: Good News For Australia As Cameron Green Declared Fit To Play Indore Test

Battered and injured Australians will be at their best to match the excellence of the Indians in their home conditions when the third Test begins in Indore on Wednesday, March 1. Things went from bad to worse for them on this tour, with players suffering injuries and their captain Pat Cummins returning home due to a family health emergency. The visitors trail 0-2 in the four-match Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2023 and need the magic wand to turn things around to ensure that they at least draw the series. In such a situation, good news has come in the form of full fitness of Cameron Green.

The all-rounder was sidelined due to a finger injury which has been healing for months now. He was seen batting in the nets and had long sessions with the bat in his hand.

“It was a few instances in the nets where I’d probably go for the sweep and flick the end of my bat. We thought we’d give up a game and with the year coming, it was probably the right call. The last two weeks really I’ve been very good, I’ve got a lot of confidence in it,” Green told cricket.com.au after the nets session on Friday.

Green said, “That’s the nature of cricket and injuries. You can never really rush these things… I’m happy with the process I’ve gone through.”

With Cummins back, Green’s recovery will be welcomed on the tour of Australia as his return means he can bring some balance to the playing 11. Green is not only a solid middle-order batsman but can also bowl medium pace and will definitely be in the squad. Team for third test

Steve Smith, who will be captaining the side in Cummins’ absence, will be looking to make the best use of him in Indore.
