India skipper Rohit Sharma named Shubman Gill and KL Rahul in the playing XI for the first one-day international as Sri Lanka won the toss and Dasun Shanaka opted to field first in Barsapara. Cricket Guwahati Stadium on Tuesday.
“We are going to bowl first, because of the dew in the night. The way we played in T20 Internationals, it was a good boost. Dilshan Madushanka makes his debut,” said Dasun Shanaka at the toss.

Rohit Sharma said he too would have liked to bowl first but added that the dew would provide a ‘good challenge’.
“We are happy to bat first. We would have liked to bowl as well, it is a good challenge. The ground was dewy yesterday,” said Rohit at the toss.
He said, ‘There will come a time when we will have to bowl under dew, we have to be ready for it’ World Cup around the corner. It’s about getting the basics right, it’s important to do things differently from time to time. We need to keep moving in the right direction. It was good to play an ODI here last time, hopefully we will have another memorable one.”
