IND v NAM, T20 World Cup: India beat Namibia as Kohli-Shastri partnership ends on a high

New Delhi: Rohit Sharma (56 in 37 balls) and KL Rahul (54 in 35 balls) put on a solid match-winning partnership of 86 runs in 59 balls for the first wicket after magical bowling from Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin took India by 9 wickets. Gave victory. against Namibia in their final match of the ongoing ICC Men’s T20 World Cup at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on Monday.

Virat Kohli didn’t get a chance to bat in his last match as T20 captain, but he and coach Ravi Shastri ended their World Cup campaign on a high as Team India finished out with a thumping win over Namibia. Was successful. Not only Kohli and Shastri, but bowling coach Bharat Arun and fielding coach R. Sridhar’s tenure with the national team also ends with a win. Batting Coach Vikram Rathor has reapplied for the position.

In Test cricket, India, led by Virat Kohli, achieved a historic victory twice below Australia. Seeing India’s dominance in Test cricket, fans thought that Virat would finally win his first World Cup as India’s captain by winning the World Test Championship title but India were crushed by New Zealand and the team had to return empty-handed.

Coming back into the match, Virat Kohli, playing his last game as Team India’s T20I captain, won the toss and decided to bowl first against Namibia. Spinners Ravindra Jadeja (3/16) and Ravichandran Ashwin (3/16) set a trap around the batsmen as the duo shared six wickets between them to shake off their opponents.

Byrd and Michael van Lingen got their team off to a good start, playing some good strokes against the Indian pacers to push their side to 33/0 but Bumrah got the much needed breakthrough and then the spinners got the job done. After losing early wickets against India’s formidable spin attack, Wiese, Frilleinck and Trumpelman with some runs in the death overs pushed Namibia to a respectable total.
